Perhaps there's something in the water or the beer, but Canada has given the world some of the strongest singer-songwriters of the modern pop era: Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Ian & Sylvia, and of course Gordon Lightfoot. This Canadian icon, which Gordon has never considered himself to be, emerged in the 1960's, first as a composer and soon after, a noted performer whose verile yet sensitive voice and striking songs, quickly established GL as one of the most gifted folk-inspired artists in an era bursting with talent. By the 1970's, Gordon Lightfoot went on to reach super-stardom with a series of big selling albums and hit singles.
My first GL album was "If You Could Read My Mind" which included Kris Kristofferson's "Me and Bobby McGee"
