Part of the appeal Gordon Lightfoot had, as well as Joni Mitchell and Ian & Sylvia and Leonard Cohen, was the fact they were Canadian.

There's great agreement to just how good Gordon Lightfoot songs were, and are.
For some reason also... there's great agreement in this country that the songs we've gotten from Canadians are some of the best.
What's this mean?
