Growing up in a musical family, I had no choice but to take lessons. They started me on trumpet. I hated it and finally gave it up. Next was piano. Maybe two years worth of lessons but I didn't like that either. I was getting into the folk vibe by then. Well, the Trio vibe. Then they made me take upright bass lessons. I ended up playing bass in the high school orchestra for one year. But I finally gave that up too. Funny part about bass was a guy had formed a rock band and asked me to play bass. He had an electric bass for me to use. I turned him down. The group went on to record a hit record. They were called the Fifth Estate and had a hit with Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead. By then I was playing guitar and banjo and had my own group, The Villagers. But anyway, the point of all this is my one regret is not having stuck with piano. I love piano but back then I was stupid..
