Thanks, Bob! I was there and was fortunate to have brothers 7 and 9 years older than me. I saw Elvis's appearances on Ed Sullivan. The whole Rock 'N' Roll and Folk music explosions were mine to behold and listen to as my brothers bought the records and I sopped up everything. Notice the P-90 single-coil pickups on Carl's Gibson Les Paul. This performance was 1956, a year before Gibson introduced humbucking pickups which reduced buzz and gave a grindier tone. Also, listen to that beautiful tube amp distortion when Carl digs in on his ax. That's why tube amps are as popular today as they were back then. Again, Thanks For Checking Out SASS!

Ken, thanks for posting the Carl Perkins material. The mid to late 50's was an explosive period in American music and you had to have lived through it to fully appreciate the impact. I'm showing my age but if you weren't there, believe me, it was seismic.
