They were game changers... they set a new bar with their harmony.
I was drafted in 1969, and I remember going into the PX at Ft. Knox for the first time, and what I saw first was their album.
I didn't like them one bit.
They were too good.
I don't know exactly when you started this board Ken.
But, during the first years many of the Trio's early fans posted their stories.
Stories most of us had not heard before.
One of them was about Nick stopping at Santa Barbra to get gas.
He'd been in L.A. or San Francisco for something and was driving back to ... gee ... now I can't remember the name of the town where he had his Christmas tree farm.
THat's where he was headed in his Porsche.
Going fast, of course.
He said he heard behind him a car racing after him...honking, honking, honking.
Finally, he slowed down....
And, eventually pulled over to the side of the road.
It was David Crosby.
