This is an incredible find......
I actually liked it.
I've kicked myself a million times for not spending more time with him when I saw him at a celerity golf tournament in 1990 and we talked briefly about the Trio.
I asked him what songs he was on ... he said all of them after Rev Mr. Black.
I'm certain that the Trio meant a lot to him.
Out of the millions of songs that he played on as a side man, including some with Sinatra.... his remembering Rev. Mr. Black has to mean something.
When I mentioned Bob Shane.... everything stopped. He paused for a minute.... and thought.... before saying anything else. I'm sure that a million memories of Bob came at him at once.
I think his 3 or 4 hits were monumental for our generation.
They had as big an emotional impact on me as any Trio song.
There was one I didn't know about until we saw him during his final tour.
An incredible Jimmy Webb song.
