I think it's the mysterious 000-28.

I've seen one other very old video where Dave is playing a 6-string, and it isn't a 00-21.

The "story" is that when the cover was shot for the 1st album, for some reason, Bob did not have his D-28.

The 000-28 in the photo was supposedly one that someone happened to have when the photo was shot.

I think that's a bunch of crap.

I think Bob's first Martin 6-string was a 000-28.

And, he got his first D-28 after the first album came out.

Peter bought Bob's first D-28.

It does not have chrome plated Grover tuning machines.

They're ... I can't remember what kind of metal it is... that's silver. It's like bronze only it's silver. I've seen a few very old D-28s with these tuners.

It has incredible grain on the back.
