I thought I once heard that Bob actually played Tom Dooley on Dave's old SS Stewart banjo. Not true?

I saw one that was exactly like the one Bob had on ebay...that he played Tom Dooley on.
I told him about it, but he wasn't interested.
Anyone remember what it was?
