but I also happen to agree with Paul about Bob Dylan's heartfelt poetry in the song "Boots of Spanish Leather":
"If I had the stars from the darkest night, and the diamonds from the deepest ocean,
I'd forsake them all for your sweet kiss. For that's all I'm wishin' to be ownin".
- Bob Dylan

Secondly, I want to share what was written in the liner notes for Ian & Sylvia's album: "Four Strong Winds":
The lyric "Tomorrow Is A Long Time" is from the pen of the gifted Bob Dylan, brightest and most promising of the younger folk poets.
"Bob can write a fine, tender love song when he has a mind to," says Ian Tyson & Sylvia Fricker...."and this is one of his best."

ps: Here's another song about two lovers splitting up....
as Ian Tyson also includes a weather report about our Canadian winters:
AND...AND...AND...
Bob Dylan's "Boots of Spanish Leather" performed in concert at Carnegie Hall in 1963:
well this is a really enjoyable thread for me as my 3 favorite Dylan songs are Tomorrow is a Long Time, Boots of Spanish Leather, and Girl from the North Country. The line in Boots about the stars from the darkest night and the diamonds from the deepest ocean has to rank as one of the most poetic lines in popular music, IMHO
Folk on, all
