I watched 8 minutes of the 16 minute video and stopped.
This was a great one-man discussion.
I was sold after 8 minutes.
Billy Strings is a cool kid.
I’m in favor of jazz …. No mater what form it takes.
What’s jazz?
Anything out of the ordinary.
I believe that Pete Seeger was a jazz banjo player.
So was Earl Scruggs.
If I had to pick between the two … I’d take Pete every time.
What I believe is great is someone 70+ years old …….
Exploring new things.
Being open minded enough to try something different.
Not sitting in their rocking chair waiting to die.
The great thing about today is that you can have any kind of music you want with a few key strokes.
You can let it play for 3 hours or 3 seconds and move on to something else.
You don’t have to take the record off the turntable … put it back in its sleeve … put the album back on the shelf… find another one….take the record out of the sleeve …
Or, if you want to …. You can do just that, and the vinyl is better than it was 60 years ago.
For me …. It’s whatever floats your boat …..as long as you don’t keep your boat tied up at the dock.
Ya gotta get out and paddle the damn thing around the lake……..catch some fish.
