Susan, there's so much to be said about Ray Charles being a musical genius. He truly was. I loved most of his songs.
"Hit The Road Jack" was always a biggie for me. Ray was quoted as saying something to this affect:

"Don't feel sorry for me because I can't see those pretty gals. I can do more with my hands than you can do with your eyes."

Great to see Ray Charles joining this discussion board! My Dad bought Ray's album 'Modern Sounds In Country And Western Music' when it first came out and it's probably the best record we've got in the house. Our family went to see the movie 'Ray' and not only is this a super film, Jamie Foxx was outstanding and deserved winning the Best Actor's Award. As written in the promos for Ray: The only thing more extraordinary than the music was the man behind it.
Ray Charles did an excellent job coaching actor Jamie Foxx. If you haven't already, I highly recommend seeing the movie Ray.
