Folk On, Y'all!

The Sunday Artist & Song Showcase features, Del Fest
Del McCoury Band - This week's SASS is inspired by our good buddy and Kingston Crossroads member, Bob Ware, who suggested I feature one of his and my favorite Bluegrass artists, Del McCoury, on this week's SASS go 'round. Although I'd heard Del's music over the decades I really began to appreciate his artistry after seeing him several times on Ronnie Reno's Old Time Music show over yonder to RFD-TV. Although he was briefly with Bill Monroe & His Bluegrass Boys in 1954, Del really came to the forefront of the genre when he teamed with his sons to form the Del McCoury Band in the 1980s.
Del McCoury & Billy Strings - Del McCoury and Billy Strings unite in a video of this old-timey ballad. Note that bluegrass high lonesome harmony Del sings on the latter part of each verse of "Midnight On The Stormy Deep" and there ain't no one better'n that at that be there now?
Song Button - Del McCoury, "Roll In My Sweet Baby's Arms"
From Del's earlier days comes a song everybody knows!
Thanks For Tuning Into SASS & Y'all Folk On In Good Health!
