I like and have a Shure Beta 58, Shure Beta 57, and a Shure SM81. I've also got Heil mics, a PR40, and a PR20 which are excellent dynamic mics. Also, currently, I also have a matched stereo pair of Ear Trumpet Labs Edwina Large Condenser Mics that I've only used a few times at home.

Back in the day for live performance, I used a pair of ElectroVoice PR20 mics (the monster-sized broadcast mics) and PR11 mics for both vocals and guitar, a Shure SM58, a Shure SM57, and an AKG PL80 condenser mic. There must have been others but that was 40 years ago.

Way back when in 1977, after less than a year of playing in bars, pubs, and restaurants, I started to using various pickups in my guitars as they'd greatly help in taming feedback compared to micing a guitar.
