Re: The Seekers: The Shores of Avalon
Such a beautiful song! From what I've read, The Seekers sold over 50 million records.
How many albums did The Kingston Trio sell? Anybody know?
Rather expensive CD so I had to sell one of my kids!
No problem; he was becoming a nuisance and asked too many questions! So Long, Charlie. :>)
Rick, I can try getting a copy made of "Future Road" and gladly send it to you. The Seekers were blessed having such an extraordinary talented vocalist such as Judith Durham.
No wonder Dave Guard wanted her to join his Whiskeyhill Singers. (no disrespect to Judy Henske) When listening to "The Shores of Avalon" you could hear Judith Durham's unique powerful voice electrifying this song.
Her voice could brighten any room. And to be honest, Judith Durham could brighten any room just by walking in. RIP: Judith Durham (1943-2022)
I missed it too. I thought I had all their recordings. Just went looking for it, but it's a little rich for me right now. Alas, such is life. Great song though. I love the Uilleann pipes.
I got hold of The Seekers "Future Road" album today. It was recorded in 1997 and somehow, someway, I missed it.
Then again, I'm guilty of missing so many things, I lost count! :>)
At least I got this album now and can't for the life of me stop listening to it. Not one bad song on there.
Allow me to share my favorite....
