Bob, the Brothers Four were my second favorite group next to the Trio. I think coming in third back then was the Limeliters.
Rick, I used a plastic whiffleball bat as my guitar as I played along with the Brothers Four and The Smothers Brothers. I never got any better with a real guitar. MTABob
At Large was my first Trio album. I had gotten interested after hearing Tom Dooley and Worried Man, so for Christmas, 1959, my Mom and Dad gave me At Large, which I still have, and I was hooked for life! I walked around the house with a badminton racquet pretending it was a guitar or banjo and shortly later bought my first guitar, a Harmony Stella for $20, and my Grandfather who had a big band just happened to have a banjo in his attic which he gave to me. I never looked back.
