I was 15 when these albums came out.
I’m sure that I played both of them at least a million times.
I’m sure that you did too.
I suspect that the new stereo CDs were made off of the Box Set CDs.
The new CDs are not from Capitol. They were made in France and France has different copyright laws than the U.S.
You need to get these CDs for only one reason.
It’s not because they are in stereo.
Over all, the quality of the sound goes from not very good, to good, to better, and at times, excellent.
Vinyl hid all of these problems, but we couldn’t hear them. Digital makes them very apparent.
The reason why you should get these CDs is because they don’t sound like the original mono recordings.
This will jog your memory.
While they’re playing them … you’ll remember shit you didn’t know that you’d forgotten.
About the time I played Hungry i constantly ….
I was in love with a girl.
I thought about her every time I played Gue Gue.
Remember … I was 15 then.
She has a Facebook page now.
She has pictures of her grandchildren on it. They’re in college.
When I looked at some of her current photographs …
I had to look really hard to be able to tell it was her.
That’s when I wanted to cry ….
Yep, I promise you … you’ll cry when you hear these CDs.
Then, you’ll cry once more when you realize that they are probably going to be the last Kingston Trio CDs you’ll ever buy.
But, who knows…….
Some kid could easily find, up in his grandparents’ attic an old 7 inch tape recorder reel of a concert that was secretly recorded off the sound system, using a Wollensak T-1515.
