Hey Max, you ever see this which I posted on Folk U.S.A. some time back? I saw the banjo head at a presentation the Deering's did at one of the camps I went to. So I bought one, and sent it to Pete and asked him to sign it. He did and sent it back to me. It's framed and hanging on my wall. He also signed the head of my Vega Seeger banjo and played a few licks on it. I took that head off the banjo and use it as an autograph "book". I took it to one of the camps. Lots of memories on that head.
I wish I had about 10 lives......
I could easily keep them all busy.
If I'd had them......
I would have had one of them spend some time with Pete.
There needs to be a great book about Pete.
He came as close to being a great American hero as anyone who lived during our time.
Think about what he did.
He went from being found in contempt of Congress to getting a big presidential award.....
Was Pete a communist?
I think he was... but not the kind that's associated with Russia.
My friend.... Tom McGoodwin got Pete to sign his banjo head.
when Tom asked Shane to sign it .........
Bob signed his name and drew an arrow from his name to Pete's name.
Above the arrow...Bob wrote "He did it!"
Out of all the autographs i have... I value Pete's the most !!!!!!!!!
Max
