Re: Sunday Afternoon at the Trident, Don Scaletta Trio
Thanks, Terry, I'll check out Jonathon Stout!
Yes, Thanks for the Joe Pass video. As a fan of multi genre stuff and a lover of great guitar work. I suggest you check out ( lots on You Tube) a gent by the name of Jonathon Stout. This guy is fantastic, his hero was the great Alan Reuss of big band era fame (Alan best known for working with Harry James and his guitar work on "I'm beginning to see the Light" is legendary). Jonathon Stout is as good as I've ever heard, worth checking out. TC
Thanks, Michael, I'll look into The Don Scaletta Trio! How about that Joe Pass video on SASS last week? More Jazz coming!
I think a lot of us appreciate jazz along with other music genres. There are certainly Kingston Trio connections with jazz artists, including of course David Wheat, Dean Reilly, and Paul Gabrielson. The Don Scaletta Trio recorded a fine album at the Trident, the Sausalito restaurant owned by the Trio. I think selections from that album would be excellent choices for Ken's SASS presentations, although there are no vocals.
