Since I was a kid, I always loved visiting the UNITED STATES. I must have taken a few hundred trips to the U.S.A. by now.
Without exception - I always enjoyed myself !!!

Anyhow, going back to the JFK story at West Hill High...
on Monday Morning, November 25th, 1963 - my Father drove me to school, insisted on seeing the Principal, Mr. McVie,
AND my Geography teacher, Miss Yianakouras.
My Father made it clear, that when Miss Yianakouras laughed at President Kennedy being shot, it was totally inappropriate and totally unacceptable...
AND if I was to be suspended for standing up to her, my Dad was ready to file a Formal Complaint with the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal.
Miss Yianakouras said, at the time, she didn't know President Kennedy was killed - only "shot" !!!
To make a long story short...Mr. McVie cancelled my suspension, and told me to hurry up and get to Math Class.
Miss Yianakouras told my Father....
"I like Bruce. He's one of my favourite students. I didn't expect him to lash out at me. I'm sorry for what happened."
