video @10:25 "Play me that Only The Good Die Young
This should have been posted in the thread about "57 Years Ago Today" - Sorry:
It was Friday afternoon, at Montreal's West Hill High School. (Grade 8)
I was sitting and drawing pictures of cute girls in my Geography notebook, waiting for our teacher,
Miss Yianakouras (from Greece), to arrive.
She enters our classroom and says:
"Class, I have to tell you that President Kennedy was shot.
Geography Class will be cancelled today and you can all go home."
(students in our class are shocked and making noise)
"What happened ???" - screamed out Sharon McKenzie !!!
Miss Yianakouras replies:
"President Kennedy was in Dallas, and somebody shot him. That's all I know.
I didn't like him, anyway." (begins to laugh)
I jumped up and yelled out....
"Wait a minute, Miss. They shot President Kennedy and you're laughing? You should be ashamed of yourself" !!!
Miss Yianakouras didn't waste any time:
"Bruce, get down to the Principal's office, right now. I'll deal with you later. The rest of the class is dismissed."
To make a long story short, our Principal, Mr. McVie, asked me to apologize to Miss Yianakouras....
and when I refused - I got suspended.
(that's OK, I didn't like High School, anyhow)
