I don't recall if or when it sold, I DO recall that the price was somewhat outrageous at the time.
Yesterday, on FB, on the Kingston Trio Diamond Legacy page there was a post regarding the recent sale of this guitar.
The post has a link to the seller with some nice photos and stories*.
The only thing left out was how much this guitar actually sold for. Anybody know??? I loved this instrument..a one off Brazilian, sort of a Mossman version of a D 35..with a tree of life fretboard inlay. I could care less about the "Secret hiding place"...not my thing there.
* The blurb from the seller was quite thorough except for one detail. There are photos of case candy etc. A copy of the KT and friends DVD case in that photo is incorrect. The DVD that featured that particular guitar was the "Folk Music Reunion" hosted by the Kingston Trio. Which is a wonderful show with the Bros. Four (with Bob Haworth) the Limes and several others.
The Mossman guitar gets lots of love on the video. I'd be curious to know who the new owner is, as well as the$$$.
