Way back in the 1990's when I worked at the Tower Record Store on Broadway (NYC),
the Manager let me speak to Capitol Records President & CEO Gary Gersh on the phone.
Mr. Gersh was very nice on the telephone and when I asked him about releasing Kingston Trio albums on CD
he told me there was a "Best Of" coming out soon as part of Capitol's "Collectors Series".
Mr. Gersh said that Kingston Trio complete albums were also "on the radar" but couldn't give me more details.
Very nice guy, but I never got to speak with him again.

My guess is Richard Weize was aware of the success and demand of KINGSTON TRIO records in America,
and felt he had a money-maker in releasing both the GUARD TRIO & STEWART TRIO.
(he didn't have to like them)

Funny he didn't like The Kingston Trio but issued those box sets. I suppose if he had enough asking he would issue the 2n DG & Whiskeyhill Singers album

I was always interested in getting hold of Dave Guard & The Whiskeyhill Singers 2nd Album.
I've tried reaching out to Tom Guard --- but unfortunately silence was the bold reply.
The person who may have this tape from Capitol Records is Richard Weize,
President & CEO of BEAR FAMILY RECORDS. (located in Germany)
I phoned Mr. Weize (in Germany) and once he told me he did not like THE KINGSTON TRIO ---
and found their songs to be "Watered-Down Folk Music" I lost interest in our conversation and hung up the phone.
Richard Weize had originally planned to make a third BEAR FAMILY BOX SET entitled: POST KINGSTON TRIO & MORE ---
to follow up on THE GUARD YEARS and THE STEWART YEARS --- but never happened.
That third Box Set would have included BOTH ALBUMS by DAVE GUARD & THE WHISKEYHILL SINGERS.

Does anyone know if anyone has done any research on that 2nd Dave Guard & the Whiskeyhill Singers album that was recorded but never released. Might Tom Guard heard about it and know its last where abouts.?
