Yes, "The Trio that never was" I think

Wasn't there something in KTOR about John, Nick and Dave talking about forming a trio in the 1970s?

I seem to remember that John Stewart had plans to form a trio beyond singing with Buffy Ford. Didn't he try out with John Denver and that didn't work out? What if John pursued it more and secured a third singing partner who would that be? Fun suggestions? My evil mind thought Bob Shane and immediately I said to myself NO the Audiences would want KT songs. No No . So I thought hum 1967-68 how about Dave Guard? Any other suggestions?
I just spent an enjoyable hour sojourning through KTOR looking for that elusive "trio that never was" of IIRC John Stewart, Dave Guard, and George Grove. I'll pull out Bill Bush's Greenback Dollar maybe tomorrow morning and see if perhaps he addressed that. We could also just ask George, who has always known more about the KT than anyone else living or dead. I think I still have his email on one computer or another.
