The first is the many hours I spent as a kid when I was about 10 years old, in my Uncle Charlie's workshop.
He was a woodworker.... had every woodworking tool imaginable.
His thing was taking cedar wood and turning it into incredible and beautiful fishing lures. Always with lots of glitter.
While he was doing this... Chet Adkins was playing on his hi fi.
Then, in about 1964, Iwas a student at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
It was about an hour's drive from Nashville, where my best friend was in college at Vandy and I visited him there many times.
One of these times, when I got there, he said we were going to a concert that night. It was going to be at a small auditorium on campus and he wasn't sure of who would be there.
It turned out to be Chet, Boots Randolph, and Floyde Cramer.
What a night !!!!!!!
When Chet played this one...I knew that my buying a guitar there a few weeks ago was a big mistake.
