My condolences to You and Your Family.
Your Father, Rick Daly, was an amazing guy.
An amazing human being who will never be forgotten. I can promise you that.
Whenever I needed any information or a video by The Kingston Trio or other folk group, Rick always came through- big time!
I know a lot of people, Kathi, and your Father was one of a kind.
We exchanged e-mails every so often, and Rick's biggest complaint was when folks would be on the cellphone
while he was having dinner with them!
We even joked about that! I told your Dad people always chose their cellphones over me, so eventually I stopped seeing them.
It didn't really matter. These people were not music lovers anyway, and some never even heard of The Kingston Trio or The Brothers Four
or Peter Paul & Mary.
Unfortunately, I never met yout Dad in person, Kathi. It's my biggest regret. But at least if Rick was looking for a certain record or CD or DVD, I always managed to send it to him.
And Kathi, you're absolutely right about your Dad being a legend.
We all loved Rick's comments and observations and looked forward to what he had to say.
Rick Daly's Memory Will Live On Forever.
Peace.

Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for your kind words and wonderful memories of our amazing Dad. We have found a bit of solace reading and learning how many friends he had all over, especially when it came to his folk music (insert his children's usual eye rolls) and history of his hometown. He loved music and I am absolutely sure that each and every one of you made his day (or more realistically night) by sharing your love of the genre with him as well. Don't worry, my brother and I actually do have some Gordon Lightfoot and Peter, Paul and "Mommy" on our personal playlists. And of course John Denver is a legend in our family. And through your comments, we have realized that our Dad is a legend as well ❤️
Please keep the memories and stories coming. And please continue to do what my Dad wanted to do which is bring people together to talk and share about their love for folk. We are figuring things out, but keeping his folkusa legacy alive is one of our missions. As long as we know how, folkusa will continue. He would love that people are asking about the site and he's getting a kick out of the fact that his kids have to figure it out! In my Dad's words, Peace.
Take care everyone.
