II saw some kind of show featuring Don a couple of years ago and he was playing a Seeger long neck. I thought at the time he would have been a good replacement for Dave Guard way back when but he was only sixteen when John became part of the Trio. I'm glad it was John though.

I have Paramount Plus and they have a new documentary on Don Mclean's "American Pie"...His background, how he wrote it and what it all means...

I'm about an hour into and there is a LOT of mentions of Pete Seeger....Garth Brooks also can't help himself in talking about the song too...
I am hoping they get to the crux of some of the lyrical meanings and not leave it a mystery...
I figured this would be of interest.....

One thing of note, there are several pics of Don holding a banjo....Never heard him play it..is hne any good?
