Here's what I mean. There are techniques that sound great on a six that sound mediocre on a 12, and things that sound so-so on a six that really shine on a 12. The net result is that you have to experiment with different picking styles until you come up with the one (or ones) that you like. It takes some time, but the end result is worth it.
