It seems that it's been established that the so-called "Limeliters' chord", as performed in "Meeting Here Tonight" (e.g. A# before D in the "Meeting Here Tonight" ending) is a folk classic.
But what was its' origin?
It seems likely that Lou Gottlieb (PhD in music) is the most obvious candidate to have developed this chord sequence - do you think that that's what happened? Or did Alex of Glenn discover this? Or did the Limes borrow this from another folk group? Or from classical music? Or from Sousa?
Enquiring minds like to know.
SMTLSLT!
