They would be on most anyone's short list for the most sophisticated three-part harmony ever in pop music. The complexity of their vocal arrangements is as good as CS&N and arguably even tighter.
A small but interesting point. The BeeGees' first U.S. hit was 1967's "New York Mining Disaster, 1941." The brothers wrote it themselves, as they did for virtually all of their top songs (as well as writing a significant number of monster hits for other artists that the brothers themselves never recorded). Both sole surviving brother Barry and the late Robin (actual co-authors of the tune) said at different times that in the "New York" song they were trying to write "a story song like the Kingston Trio" but with harmonies like the Beatles.
The influence of the KT has spread far and wide indeed.
