Here is a link to a review on the Elvis Collectors site.

The reviewer (Johnny Savage) states, “Presley, the guys and their wives all curl up with the Kingston Trio album 'Sing A Song With The Kingston Trio' (Capitol SKAO 2005), "Instrumental Background Re-Creations" of contemporary folk hits with "complete lyrics and chord symbols included for your sing-along, play along pleasure." Finally, Elvis and John Stewart, connected at last. Although musically tepid, it's worth noting that thousands of similarly-aged people did exactly the same thing with the exact same record back in the sixties. "Blowing In The Wind" and "500 Miles," folk standards penned by Bob Dylan and Hedy West respectively, are preserved here, with Elvis singing bass style on both. One anxiously awaits the Presley sing-along versions of "Tom Dooley" or "A Worried Man," both included in that album.”

There are several posts of this fake(?)"recording" on Youtube. On one of them I made a commentary and asked a question about it to learn more. I'm expecting an answer from the one who posted it. Does he know the truth? Will he answer? Wait and see!
Singing is quite disorganized. Doesn't even sound like Elvis. As for the background music, I just compared the guitar solo and the end and it is from Sing Along.
I happened to hear this version of 500 miles by Elvis Presley.Though nothing is said about the Home Recording,I strongly believe they're singing (including Elvis) over the instrumental version of the song of the album "Sing a song" of the Kingston Trio which was played by Frank Hamilton with no KT members on it.
What do you think?
