I love the look and the sound of a banjo,
which is why I framed my extra copy of The Kingston Trio's "String Along" album.
It's hanging on the wall, right beside "Tom Dooley" !!!
(well okay, not exactly Tom himself, but the 45rpm single - hahaha)
Another one of my favourite albums was "Travelling On with The Weavers" - which featured
Pete Seeger sharing the spotlight with Erik Darling. Both tremendous banjo pickers !!!
Speaking of Erik Darling....he quit The Weavers to form his own folksinging group called....
=> "The Rooftop Singers" (1962-1967)
Their first hit "Walk Right In" jumped to the #1 spot and ironically features no banjo.
<<< Erik Darling & Bill Svanoe play 12 string guitar >>>
Note Lynne Taylor's facial expression at the 48 second mark:
ps: Lynne Taylor was forced to leave The Rooftop Singers due to her abusive husband's
extreme jealousy towards Erik Darling & Bill Svanoe.
A couple of years later, Lynne committed suicide by self inflicted gunshot wounds.
(tragic story - more details later)

Wow, what a find.Thanks Bruce. This brought tears to my eyes. Mike was always my favorite of the original group. I guess I always tended towards the banjo players for some reason. But I like him and was sad to see him go. Mark is a great banjo player and has a very nice voice. But like Dave, and John, and Alex, Mike was my favorite. Thanks for posting this. I'll have to find it on Youtube and download it.
