I love being able to express myself freely here, and our mindsets don't differ too far from each other. I don't hold back on this site like I did on Crossroads.
I will say this-it'll be interesting to see who shows up in Texas tomorrow night. Yee-Haw!
As it's my chat board, I'm going to chime in on Mr. Rivers post.
First, along with John Birchler, I too don't like hearing the postings of many of us here called "crap". Tomm, if you knew more about why this board was created, you'd know that I opened it up because I became persona non grata over on Crossroads for posting my opinions, all or most of them negative about the Marvinettes, their musical proficiency and the way GBR were treated. People over there, one in particular didn't like my posts and constantly let me know it. And it was, understandably I guess, getting under Ken Laings skin. So I stopped posting and opened this message board with the intentions that you could come here and say anything you wanted as long as you kept withing the few slim guidelines I have posted... NO LEWD OR SEXUALLY-EXPLICIT TOPICS, NO PERSONAL POLITICAL OR RELIGIOUS STATEMENTS, NO SPAMMERS OR SPAM LINKS. Other than that, if you wanted to trash mike marvin, or Josh or this new thing trying to be the trio, go ahead, you were more than welcome. But don't go calling posts of these nature trash. As John said, if you don't like what's posted here, don't read them. Go over to Crossroads where you can blow your horn and wave your pom poms for the new group. PERIOD!
As to Josh returning to the group. Not true? Who told you that Tomm? I'm curious, since I was the one who posted that Josh was returning, and I got that directly from Josh. I was on Facebook, and out of nowhere he private messaged me telling me so. He also mentioned, in passing, a restraining order but didn't go further into it. He told me I could post that he was returning to the group as of November 2d, but not to mention the restraining order. I agreed, but now that you mention it, I will too. In fact, screw it. I don't owe Josh anything. As far as I'm concerned, he was still involved with the initial firing of my good friend George and also Bill and Rick, so no love lost there. So here's the message Josh sent to me. Make of it what you will:
"Rick. Do not quote me. This is a private thing between me and MM. but “The Marvinettes” are not replying in good faith. Also
Website is back up
The Shane’s lawyer clarified in writing what I had suspected was true. Josh Reynolds and MM are 50-50 owners of the exclusive trademark license. Trademark owned by the Shane’s. There is a Quality Control provision in the agreement that is null and void.
Neither can replace the other.
Shane’s have to sign off on lineups and they did after we had about 3-4 shows. With anyone else, they (Bob/Bobbie). Have to approve. So I will return to my rightful place starting on 11/2 in Texas (Arlington). I have reached out to MM, TG and Greg Jorgenson with the reality and sincere professionalism."
So, is he back or isn't he?
As to the musical proficiency with Bobby H. back in the group, no argument from me that Bobby is a class A musician and performer, but that doesn't mean it lifts up marvin and gorelangton. Marvin still has no sense of rhythm or timing and he can't sing. As for Gorelangton, he flat out can't play the banjo. At two fantasy camps, I heard guys who could play rings around him. And in my younger days, before arthritis and tendonitis in my hands set in, so could I. So, nice job Bobby H., but your two team mates still suck. It's like putting Brett Favre or Peyton Manning on a team of mediocre high school foot ball and expecting that the entire team was somehow going to be instantly state champion material. Just don't happen that way.
As for the dueling websites, I don't give a shit. I've ignored all the posts regarding that issue and will continue to do so.
Finally, Tomm, if you have any information about this "restraining order", post it. Years ago we had a guy on Crossroads who called himself Mr. Roadie. He'd come on from time to time and post something very interesting but not really get into specifics, always leaving with "More to come?" and there never was "more to come". Don't leave us in suspense. You mention in passing a knock to the head. Did Josh actually assault the marvelous mike marvin? Was marvin unable to defend himself so he left it to the courts (does that surprise anyone?) to tell Josh to stay 100 feet away from him at all times? What's it all about? Elucidate us. I'm sure we'd all like to know.
That's it from me for now. though there may be "more to come".
