Princess Astrid of Norway has passed

News is coming in from Norway that Princess Astrid has died. I can’t find it in English yet.

My condolences to the people of Norway and the Royal Family. This has been a tough time for them.

Norway's Princess Astrid, an older sister of the late King Harald, died on Friday at the age of 94, the royal palace said in a statement.

Astrid's brother Harald died last month, aged 89, after more than 35 years on the throne, and the princess made her last public appearance at his funeral on Wednesday.

'Throughout her long life, Princess Astrid represented the Royal House in a warm and dutiful manner,' King Haakon VIII said in the statement.

Not unexpected, but still sad news. Astrid looked so frail at Harald's funeral I think she was worn out and the sorrow was so great that she subconsciously decided it was time to go. My deepest condolences to her family.

I was very sad to learn of Astrid's death, but it wasn't a surprise. She didn't look well at King Harald's funeral. She decided to wave the white flag and surrender. Astrid was a huge asset to her father and brother and never complained..at least in public. She'll be missed. May she rest in peace.
