Crown Princess Mette-Marit set to undergo lung transplant, Palace confirms

She is set to undergo a lung transplant after a deterioration in her health, the Norwegian palace confirmed today.

I knew of someone who had this done --30+ years ago. I had been expecting MM would undergo the same procedure at some point. With her disease, there's really nothing else to be done eventually. I hope she gets plenty of more years.

I expected that a lung transplant was the next step. One thing that Mette Marit has in her favor is she's still relatively young and transplant surgeries have come a long way now, but they aren't without risk and the recovery still is not without risk. I wish MM well.
