OT-ish: Duke of Marlborough charged with in intentional strangulation

The Duke attempted to strangle the same person several times over several years. He is a distant cousin of The Prince of Wales and Sir Winston Churchill.

Jamie sounds like something else. I wonder what the circumstances were for the repeated attacks? Regardless, his behavior was horrific and he obviously has some mental issue going on plus a dose of entitlement, too.

It's his ex-wife (or at least separated wife) he choked. What a peach of a guy.

As I recall, before inheriting and when he was Jamie Blandford, he had intense drug problems.
That is when the Foundation was formed, to protect the assets of the Marlborough inheritance. That action ensured that he could not destroy it all on drugs, on becoming Duke.

Yep, the stories I read earlier didn't name her, but now she's been revealed to be the victim. What a hell of a guy.

The DM article identifies his ex-wife as well as his history of drug addiction. A real catch of a guy. Not. The article also mentions how he's "mysteriously" missed three court sessions.

Yep, more details are coming out The DM updated its original article. Jamie's father wanted to bypass Jamie and leave everything to Jamie's son from his first marriage because he believed Jamie would squander the family fortune. The trust was left in place after the father died and, IIRC, Jamie's son is one of the trustees.
