The Queen's Chapel was built as a Catholic chapel, designed by Indigp Jones, between 1623 and 1625. It was used by Charles I's wife Queen Henrietta Maria, who imported the chapel furnishings from France.
Last night the King attended a service celebrating the 400 years of the Chapel, Princess Alexandra also attended. The congregation included Ecumenical representatives from the German Lutheran and Jesuit churches in London in recognition of the Chapel’s history as a place of worship for European courtiers.
