Very disrespectful on Maria Teresa's part. All the other women in attendance who are allowed the privilege du blanc wore veils. Neither Letizia nor Charlene are particularly devout, but they followed the rules. Why Maria Teresa did not I don't know.

Also, I'm sorry, but what possessed Grand Duchess Maria Teresa to wear that outfit? Princess Charlene, Queen Mathilde and Queen Letizia wore exactly what they knew would be appropriate. Plain simple outfits with long sleeves.

Again, there's speculation why Maria Teresa's choice of "dress" and lack of a veil. It's all to make a statement.
