I'm not fond of the color of Catherine's suit, and the trousers are a little too long. This is a rare miss for her, although it's still fifty million times better than what, well, you know who wore.

I think Catherine wanted the designers and their creations to shine and she kept the spotlight on them, not herself.

The Princess wore a Victoria Beckham Single-Breasted Notch-Lapel Woven Jacket and also Alina Trousers in the colour Willow by Victoria Beckham.

Thanks. She's worn a few of Victoria Beckham's designs and they've looked great. The jacket and the trousers (except for the length) fit Catherine beautifully. I just don't like the color. I think it washes her out. Raising the trousers' hemlines an inch wouldn't ruin the line and would stop the trousers from dragging a little on the ground.

I like the cut and fit of the suit, but the color is just plain awful. Maybe with a jolt of color in the blouse instead of white? I dunno. Powder blue is the rage this spring. Almost anything else would have been better. As for the length, those pants are 1/4 inch off the ground - max. Long enough to cover the shoe is another trend and Catherine does nail it here. No puddling or dragging, and despite the volume of the trousers she was not enveloped in fabric. Still, I hope this suit goes into the burn pile.

The Princess is wearing one of the popular colours here in the UK. Key colours that are popular in the UK are muted greens, warm pinks, rich browns, and deep reds. Muted green and olive colours are very popular.

Olive is a color that doesn't look great on any woman, regardless of age, body build or race. It's my opinion, it's hard to pair with another color. At least with beige, you can pair it with a bright color/colors, although "some" women just like "being" all beige, like wearing oatmeal.
