Since the Princess of Wales has started talking about the joys of nature, I've been paying more attention to nature as I go on my daily doggie walks. I have the privilege of living on 10 acres in the woods and have streams and ponds to enjoy. I have to say I've enjoyed the calm and peace from the woods, flowers, weeds, birds, and yes, the occasional bear! In this latest video, I loved the very short clip of the Belted Galloways--or as we call them, "Oreo Cookie Cows." It makes me happy whenever I see them.

Very common breed of cows in the UK, particualry here in Scotland. The Belted Galloway is a traditional Scottish breed. It comes from the Galloway region of south-western Scotland.

We have a few of them here in Virginia. Our county mostly has black angus, but every once in a while you see a Belted Galloway. I also love Charloix (I think that is how you spell it) Everything else is just a common cow--unless you raise cows, and then it becomes much for than "common!"
