Royal Jewels

Burmese Ruby Tiara - Commissioned by Queen Elizabeth II from Garrard & Co in 1973. The Tiara was crafted using rubies which were presented to the then Princess Elizabeth in 1947 as a wedding gift by the Burmese people. The diamonds used in the piece were taken from the now dismantled Nizam of Hyderabad tiara.

I love this tiara, although I wish the Nizam tiara hadn't been dismantled to make it. Shades of Queen Mary's penchant for altering her jewels...

I agree about the Nizam Tiara, this is a gorgeous tiara. I have to say Queen Camilla looked stunning when she wore this tiara.
