Jason was chosen for his service and loyalty to the Prince and Princess of Wales as well as to the Royal Family. The reporter insinuates that he was chosen as a reward for his "interview and dissing poor Meghan". The Royal Family doesn't diss the Sussexes, Harry and "Megs" do that all by themselves.

Jason seems to be a great match for Earthshot. He's got a lot of experience, he works well with William, and he's willing to work hard.
