1662 - Princess Elizabeth, daughter of King James I & VI, died. Four days later her coffin left Somerset House, and her son Rupert was the only one to follow the funeral procession to Westminster Abbey. There, in the chapel of Henry VII, "a survivor of an earlier age, isolated and without a country she could really call her own" was laid to rest among her ancestors and close to her beloved elder brother, Henry, Prince of Wales.

She died without a countries, but her descendents have ruled over many countries. IIRC all but two of the currently reigning Houses in Europe descend from her via her youngest daughter, Sofia. Some ruling families descend from at least one other child of hers.
