Kensington Palace will no longer routinely release details of the Princess of Wales’s outfits from her royal engagements.

Agreed, although I might still slip in an "ooh, I like that outfit" every once in awhile. Catherine's work is making a huge difference and the focus should be on that.

Excellent decision. The media has become so focused on the outfits and jewels that HRH's visit and the purpose often garners a couple of paragraphs, at most. The rest of the articles concern what she wore, the designer and the cost, and if she's worn the piece before or not. It's the media merching off the POW.

I doubt anything will change. The publications that are interested in her work will continue to report about her work, and the media only interested in her clothes will continue to write about her clothes, hair and makeup.

You're right, this won't change those publications that concentrate on HRH's outfits, make up etc. We all have seen the inserts the DM puts in next to their articles showing the price of Catherine's outfits and accessories, the price and where they can be purchased plus the outlets for knock offs.
The DM gets money for the merching. So, no, they won't stop and no of the others will either.

You're right it won't change the media coverage that much, but they'll have to do more work to find the designers and prices for each outfit.

This might signal a return to gushing about glossy locks, bouncing curls and endless pins.
