1994 - Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales was on stage at an Australia Day rally in Sydney where he was preparing to make a speech when a protester fired two blank shots from a starting pistol at him. David Kang had rushed on to the Darling Harbour stage shooting at Prince Charles. Charles was quickly pushed out of the way by security officers. John Fahey, at the time the Premier of New South Wales, crash tackled Mr. Kang and also by multiple security and police officers. After the incident Charles carried on and gave his speech.

I knew the working members of the RF go through training for things like this, but I was still impressed when the news reports showed Charles being very calm and just adjusting his cufflinks (the only outward sign of how he felt). He definitely kept calm and carried on!

I remember seeing this and was amazed at how Charles seemed very unaffected by it. When asked about it afterwards, he downplayed the incident and refused to encourage any drama over it.
