Crown Princess Mette-Marit Has Taken A Medical Leave

"Crown Princess Mette-Marit has gone on sick leave due to medicinal side effects.

The Norwegian Royal, who last week shared that she has restarted treatments for her chronic lung disease, will be off work for at least a week, according to the Royal Court.

In a brief statement, the Court shared: “Due to side effects of the medicines the Crown Princess must take for her chronic lung disease, she is on sick leave, initially for a week.”

All of Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s engagements have been cancelled or postponed as she recovers from the side effects of her medications."

I wonder if the added stress with Marius has affected her treatments? I'm sure it has.

We just saw her looking well in Berlin. It looks she's in for a round of ups-and-downs with the medications. I hope the dosage is adjusted so she doesn't suffer further.

As for Marius, let's hope his legal troubles have jolted him back to reality. If Mette-Marit and Haakon haven't pulled his allowance, now would be a good time to do so. He needs to be in rehab and therapy so he can be clean for his trial. What a mess.

"And amidst her ongoing health problems, it has now emerged that Crown Princess Mette-Marit may have alerted her son, Marius Borg Høiby, that he was due to be arrested on 4 August, that she cleaned his apartment before the arrest, and that she drove him to meet the arresting officers.

According to VG, a Norwegian newspaper, Crown Princess Mette-Marit was involved in the events leading up to her son’s arrest, and now could be questioned by police for her role, according to NRK, another Norwegian broadcaster.

Adding further fuel to the fire, it’s also been reported that Marius has been banned from the Skaugum apartment where his mother and stepfather live. In September, news came to light that royal trinkets had gone missing after Marius threw a wild party at the residence."

Add this new info to Mette-Marit calling the young woman who was attacked by Marius, all not smart things to do.
The one smart thing was to ban Marius from their apartment.

"...Newspaper Aftenposten had already reported that Oslo Police confirmed the revocation of the driving license. Aftenposten further reported earlier in the week that the 27-year-old Høiby has also lost access to the secured area around the royal residence at Skaugum where he grew up and where his mother still lives with Crown Prince Haakon. Høiby has continued to live in a house on the crown couple’s royal estate at Skaugum in suburban Asker. His history of drug use, earlier warnings from police and recent arrests now raise concerns of a security risk to the royal family."

"......Questions have arisen around how Høiby has been released from his arrests both times, and was allowed to travel to Italy just weeks after his first arrest. His second arrest took place at a mountain cabin where he’d been staying with friends."

Maurius has been charged with four counts of domestic abuse, all 4 of his ex-girlfriends.

Marius is bad news. His mother and stepfather are right to put some distance between him and his younger half siblings. Mette Marit needs to concentrate on her health right now and not have to worry about her elder son.

This looks bad for Mette-Marit, but it looks worse for Marius. Why would his mother go to his apartment and clean it out knowing police would search it? What was she afraid the police would find and where did she hide it? When she called the ex-girlfriend, did Mette-Marit was it to reassure her or to make "assurances"? Mette-Marit may have made the case against her son worse. When you stomp on a fire you cause the embers to spread out in all directions.

I hope Marius is under the supervision from royal security to keep him contained.

I think it's worse than "bad" for MM, if she really did all those things. Cleaning up? Maybe destroying evidence? Actively helping to cover up a crime is itself a crime.

Yes, what I was getting at. Mette-Marit might be untouchable because of her status, but she's made it worse for Marius. Her actions were a de facto acknowledgement of his wrongdoing. She aided and abetted in the coverup of an alleged crime, which is obstruction. I don't know the ins-and-outs of Norwegian law but she stepped in it.

Yes, she did. I like MM,but she stepped over the law when she "cleaned" Marius's apartment.

I had hoped Marius would turn out to be a good and productive member of society.

"The future Queen of Norway's troubled son reportedly laughed that 'there was almost a guard who didn't make it' as a result of his reckless driving.

Local media say that Marius Borg Høiby - who was arrested in August for assault, and again in September - was last year reported to the authorities for speeding up the driveway to Skaugum, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon's official residence.

He was allegedly reaching 91 kilometres in what was likely a 50 km per hour zone.

Marius had posted a video of himself on Instagram, and along with a series of laughing and crying emojis joked about the danger of the situation, according to Se og Hør.

The outlet also claimed that police had categorised it as 'reckless driving', but the case was dropped after four days due to insufficient evidence."

It's not only MM looking bad, but the police. This case was dropped for "lack of evidence", um.....apparently the police didn't test for drugs or alcohol in Marius's system after the accident, the incident appears to have been blown off by authorities. Was it due to influence by certain parties or one party? I don't know, but it brings up a lot of suspicion.
Then the domestic abuse arrest and Marius is free and able to travel to Italy with the serious charges against him. To the public I'm sure this all smells to high heaven. I like MM, too, but she has to let Marius go and face his consequences, even prison if that is the ultimate sentence for him. All of the "help" and "freebies" he's gotten so far have not helped him. He has to hit rock bottom and then he has to decide to either help himself or not. Sad reality.

Marius is self-destructive. Whether through drugs, violence or reckless driving he’s going to kill himself and/or someone else.

The police probably couldn't do anything because the driving incident happen on private grounds. Marius wasn't on a public road, but on the driveway (private road) leading up to Skaugum.
