Majesty magazine

I received my first issue yesterday. I wish I'd subscribed to it long ago. Good articles on several European Royals we seldom hear anything about. A great article about Philip deLaszlo, the portrait artist.

There were even some photos of Princess Martha Louise's wedding.

I love de Laszlo's work! I have a coffee table book "A Brush with Grandeur." His royal portraits are gorgeous.

Thanks for this! I'm inspired to subscribe now. Years ago I could buy it at a Boston-area newsstand, as well as the Royal magazine from Europe (the French language one; I think there was also one in Dutch).

No comparison between Majesty and Royalty, though I haven't seen either in years.

The French one, Point de Vue, is not worth getting anymore. Hardly anything in it is Royal now. It's mostly about European celebrities.

Yes, I miss the good old days of PdV. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that the editor was related to a lot of them, as an Orleans descendant. (Having James Goldsmith's deep pockets didn't hurt, either.)

There was a magazine that was titled Royal or Royals that put out both French and Dutch editions. I subscribed to the French edition..it went out of publication a long time ago.

Yes, karenl, that's the Royal magazine in French I used to buy--too bad it went out of publication. I still have many old copies.

I liked it and they had great photos of the European Royals that usually weren't picked up by the agencies. I had a ton of copies and then donated them to the library down the street when downsizing for a move.

I live in Connecticut and haven't been able to buy any of these magazines since a bookstore near me closed. Someone used to give Majesty to my library, but she died. I decided I'd really like to read it again.

I got my first issue recently and am also sorry I didn’t subscribe earlier. I had been getting Royalty for years but was disappointed in the last few issues.

I've gotten Majesty for decades. I used to get both Majesty and Royalty overstocks for free when I was assistant manager of a bookstore back in the late 1980s/early 1990s.
