I'm sorry to learn of this. He was a quiet, dignified gentleman who got the job done. It was difficult dealing with Diana and Fergie at the same time. Fergie was his cousin, you know.

I’m sorry to say I had a negative impression of him years ago based on Diana and Sarah’s negative opinion of him. My opinion of him totally changed after watching his behavior at Harry’s wedding. He was such a gentleman and supported his wife as she was tasked with representing Harry’s maternal side.

Lady Jane stood there on the same step next to Charles, Camilla and Doria Ragland waving the newly married couple goodbye while Lord Fellowes stood several steps behind to support his wife but far enough to not be included in the photos from that departure.
Wow, so well mannered and someone who clearly knew his place.

I remember reading that Lord Fellowes gave Diana advice or tried to. He knew how she should be acting, but she resented being told. At one point he said he was just doing his job. Poor Jane was in the middle. We don't know if she ever talked to Diana about the problems. Probably not.

I was sad to hear of Lord Fellowes death. He always struck as being a very dignified, but friendly man. He was tremendous support to the late QEII.

His father was, too. Lord Fellowes and his wife were in a tricky position during the Waleses' marriage and subsequent divorce and Diana's death. They navigated the mess with care and handled it all very well, I thought.
