The King has asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to broker a deal to allow Harry to attend his Coronation – but has met resistance from William, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

Charles wants Justin Welby to strike an agreement with his warring sons that would allow Harry and his wife Meghan to attend the Westminster Abbey ceremony in May, senior sources close to Lambeth Palace say.

The King is said to believe that the couple’s absence would be a greater distraction than their presence, so is prepared to make concessions to persuade them to attend. But William is understood to be concerned that his brother will use the event to stage a ‘stunt’ that would overshadow the event.

Sources say Harry could be guaranteed a high-profile seating position in the Abbey or an informal assurance that he will be able to keep his titles as an inducement to attend.

If Charles wants him there, invite him. If Charles wants to make concessions, let Charles make them.

But it sounds more like Charles wants William to make concessions and expects the Archbishop of Canterbury, who in the past has given appearances to be wholly in the Sussex camp, to persuade William.

So once again William has to make concessions to the Sussexes? No. William needs to stand firm on this. And Welby needs to stay out of it. Harry and his wife are going to pull something whether they're in the Abbey or in Montecito. Better to keep an ocean between them and the rest of the family.

Why is a "deal" necessary? Isn't the King of the UK allowed to ask anyone he wishes to attend the Coronation Service? I understand William's disapproval/dislike of the idea, but if Charles really wants Harry to be there, who is King and father here?

A deal is necessary because Harry is making demands before he will honor Charles with his presence.

Harry wants to ensure that he and his wife are not given the cold shoulder like they were at the Queen's funeral. That they receive the same treatment as William and Catherine.

Now we sit back and see who blinks first. They had a big list of demands for the Jubilee, but less than 30 minutes after it was announced that only workings royals would join the Queen on the balcony after Trooping the Colour, their spokesperson confirmed that they would be there.

William has no say in whether they are invited, but Charles can't force him to grovel or even speak to the Sussexes.

This isn't the first time Welby has served as an intermediary. I'd hoped that, after the lie about him conducting that secret marriage (against canon law)the Sussexes told on Oprah, that his eyes had been opened, especially since he and his office unequivocally refuted the story. Alas, he's still Team Sussex.

I agree the AOC needs to stay away from the King, Coronation, Sussex question. I'm not in any way criticizing the C of E, or the Episcopal Church. If Justin Welby was the Catholic Archbishop and dealing with the same problem in a Catholic Monarchy I would feel the same way.
I think he's way too biased towards the Sussexes and I wasn't too reassured when he and his office denied the "secret wedding", but it was almost a week or 10 days after Meghan brought it out with Oprah and then after several Anglican priest complained that it was setting a terrible precedent. He rather took his sweet time denying their story. If the King approached about a "deal", he should have declined.
I'm not critical of the Church, I'm critical of the man.

Concerning the story about Charles wanting a deal to let Harry attend the Coronation, here we go. Charles doesn't have a parental spine to say, "After what you both have said about our family, you're not invited. If you want to come to the UK, fine, watch the events from Frogmore Cottage or from the street." If Charles has them at the Coronation, okay, but the popularity he's enjoying with the public, will greatly diminish, not permanently, but it will drop.
Ya'll are tired of this, but if Andrew is not allowed at the Coronation or at some events, then the Sussexes shouldn't be allowed either. The Sussexes have acted far worse to the Royal Family than Andrew, Andrew is his own worst enemy. Harry and Meghan are enemies to the family.

Welby is in thrall to Harry's wife. I don't think he has strong feelings in regard to Harry.

It's interesting that in the latest poll, the question was where Harry should be invited to the coronation. No mention of the wife. And that probably explains why the results were as positive as they were.

Of course, anybody with a brain would realize that Harry won't attend without her and would have answered based on that premise rather than indulging in magical thinking.

Welby is supposed to be an intelligent man. How he's been fooled by Meghan I don't know.

Yeah, that poll is skewed. People don't want Meghan in the UK at all any more. Charles is worried they'll upsyage the Coronation if they're not invited? Well, won't rotten veg being hurled at them as they enter the Abbey be upstaging the Coronation? Let them stay home.

According to the Telegraph:

Mr Welby officiated Harry and Meghan's wedding and royal sources told The Telegraph that the Archbishop is "very close" to Harry and Meghan and speaks to them regularly by phone. He is also understood to be "very supportive of their plight".

Pity William and Catherine have nobody that is supportive of their plight. Why would William want to use a mediator who lacks impartiality?

I know William is close to one of the London area bishops. I'd like to say it's the Bishop of Southwark, but that doesn't sound right. William needs an intercessor or three. He must feel he's on his own at times.

I really don't know what Welby thinks he's going to gain from championing the Sussexes. I understand he's duty-bound to preach forgiveness (and I understand I'm not being a good Christian when it comes to Harry and wife), buthe needs to step aside. Brokering a truce can't happen in this instance.

Forgiveness doesn't mean "Let's pretend it didn't happen and go back to where we were before."

I doubt that William gets up every morning and sticks pins in a Harry voodoo doll, lists each nasty thing Harry has done and chants "I hate your guts!" after each one. Harry's the one holding on to anger and resentment, grudges and bitterness. William, IMO, has let go of all that.

That's exactly what forgiveness is, letting go of the resentment and anger plus take the control from the person hurting you and regaining your control over the person/situation. The saying we always hear, "I forgive you, but I won't forget.", but it certainly doesn't mean making up with that person.
William has to feel alone at times and I hope he has not only support from the rest of the family, which I think he does, but from the outside also, but it can be lonely when his father continues to bend over backward towards the prodigal son and wife with the AOC pressing his case for the "wayward son and wife". Justin Welby should stay out of fray, if I was William, I would flat out state that I wouldn't want Welby due to his bias for Harry, I'm sure it wouldn't go anywhere. Families can be so maddening and unfair.
I think we all get very angry with Harry and Meghan because none of us have treated our families as horribly as these two have while having no guilt about it. Justin Welby must be very naive and easily manipulated, I don't know.

Justin Welby 'has fallen under the spell of Harry and Meghan'

He has praised Meghan, saying: 'She's a person of profound humanity and deep concern for people, seeking to carry out her role with every ounce of her being – and I think she's a remarkable person.'

In 2021 he expressed sympathy for Harry, telling the Financial Times that being in the Royal Family was 'life without parole' and the public expected them to be 'superhuman'.

The relationship between Welby and the Sussexes has been known in the corridors of Lambeth Palace and Buckingham Palace for some time.

'The closeness of the Archbishop and the Sussexes has been a subject of conversation for a while,' said one well-placed source.

'Justin clearly had a lot of sympathy for them [over Megxit] and we were shaking our heads wondering why he felt so sorry for them. It was like he had completely fallen under their spell.'

Two more staff members leave Archewell

Fara Taylor, who leads the Archewell Productions marketing team, and internal content head Ben Browning are said to be both leaving the company.

The Sussexes are 'hugely grateful' for the pair's support on their 'vital look-back projects', adding that Ms Taylor and Mr Browning 'exceeded expectations', The Telegraph reported.

Mr Browning and Ms Taylor are leaving Archewell after having 'made their mark within the cultural zeitgeist,' the firm's head of communications told the newspaper.

Well yeah, it's very unusual to lose staff after "highly successful" projects such as (cough, cough) the Netflix sob story film and Harry's sob story book. Having such successes, why would 2 important staff members leave in Dec., followed by 2 more a month later?
Archewell, I suspect, is losing money big time while any serious donors have abandoned the organization. We all know when an organization states it's in the process of streamlining x,y,z, it's in money trouble.

King Charles may be about to break his silence on Prince Harry as he prepares to do a landmark BBC interview.

Palace aides are discussing the possibility of the monarch using his chat to give his side of the story following a string of incendiary claims in his son’s memoir Spare and his Netflix documentary with wife Meghan.

If the Palace agrees to the interview, Charles could set the record straight on the Megxit drama, in which Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, stepped back as working Royal Family members.

HG Tudor is going to have a field day with King Narc, who appears to have learned nothing from the War of the Waleses.

I can understand the King and the rest of the royals, especially Prince William to want to set hte record straight on Harry's version of events; but doing an interview never ends well. I think the royals should continue the dignified silence and not give credence to anything Harry or Meghan says.

Nope, he hasn't learned a thing. The original Dimbleby interview was 2.5 hours long, but all anybody remembers is the few minutes during which he admitted his relationship with Camilla.

Charles supposedly wants Harry at the coronation because, if he doesn't attend, the media will focus on Harry's absence. Yet it doesn't occur to him that if he tries rebut Harry's claims during an interview which is being pitched as being about his life and his plans as monarch, that the media will only focus on what he says about Harry?

Absolutely. Even if, in the event of an interview, Charles makes it known the subject of Harry is totally off the table, Dimbleby would try to get questions in concerning Harry. That's what the media wants, they don't give a fig about Charles, his life and his Monarchy...they want Charles to talk about Harry, that makes the ratings.

"Harry and Meghan's Archewell Foundation has released its 2020-22 'Impact Report' which reveals how in their first year of operation the non-profit raised $13million and distributed $3million in grants to multiple good causes.

The money raised by the Sussexes' charitable organization was spread across a variety of areas including vaccine equity, relief centers, refugee resettlement, as well as 'building a better online world'.

Their report, published Sunday, didn't specify exact totals, with royal expert Omid Scobie tweeting the numbers involved, before sharing a link to the report itself."

Helped procure 12.6 million COVID vaccines through their partnership with Global Citizen.
Rescued more than 7,400 people from war torn Afghanistan through a partnership with Human First Coalition.
Dished out 50,000 meals through a partnership with World Central Kitchen.
Developed a resource guide embracing 'positive masculinity' that's been accessed by 3,673 individuals
Built a playground for children of Uvalde, Texas after a gun massacre in a school last year killed 19 young children and two teachers
Helped fund 13 academic fellows to 'address society's most urgent concerns surrounding social media' at Harvard's Institute for Rebooting Social Media
The playground at Uvalde was funded and built by the City of Uvalde. The Covid vaccine numbers don't add up at all. Notice that exact amounts of money are not listed for each "project".
Archewell "made" $13 million in the first year and only donated $3 million? Did the $10 million remaining go into overhead/business expenses or into Harry and Meghan's pockets? Didn't Archewell report it's earnings for the first year, 2020 as only $50-55,000 to the IRS?
Anyway, this "report" smells to high heaven. Maybe that could be part of the reason for staff leaving in Dec. and Jan. also, they don't want to be associated with possible financial wrong doings.

That "partnership" with Human First Coalition gets me. Didn't the duo get an "award" for whatever they do on a rainy day, an award they didn't even seem to have received in person, since there were no photographs?
