How interesting that the late Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester was the first Dame Grand Cross. Thanks for the link.

It's been good to see the various royals houses getting back to work. This one was quite a visual, with the flowing red capes and the adornments. No drama, no distractions, just an official appearance and everyone happy.
