The Queen deserves to put her feet up: Now Prince Charles must do the heavy lifting

I've noticed that since becoming Uahoo's royal executive editor, Omid has been writing more balanced articles and (gasp) doing a bit of research.

(Harriet Johnston' article in the DM about Omid's article is somewhat misleading, IMO, as to the tone of Omid's article)

Or, and hear me out here, the heir apparent doesn't traditionally take on the heavy-hitters until he/sge ascends the Throne, or unless a regency is declared. Silly Scobie needs to do some more research.

But you have to give him credit for knowing who would have normally read the Queen's speech in her absence.

There's been definite change to his reporting. Could be Yahoo isn't going to let him blatantly shill for the Californians.

Okay, I'll give him that. Maybe he's slowly--glacially slowly--becoming a semi-competemt reporter.

Yahoo carries celeb news, but serious news as well. It's not like the gossip mags US Weekly or People. Scobie may have to change his style. I'll wait and see how the tone of further articles he writes lean.
Scobie may also have written this article about the Queen in a favorable, neutral style to make sure the Harkles are in good stead if they are attending the Jubilee or at least some of it. We'll see after the Jubilee.

Scoobie may have tried to expand his "reporting" to People and was turned away. As breathless and fawning as People can be, they are also very accurate when reporting actual news. They wouldn't give him a byline when virtually everything he has said/written can be so easily challenged and refuted. Also, he may have applied for credentials to cover the Jubilee so he may be trying to look like a Serious Journalist. If he starts wearing black framed glasses we'll know for sure.
